Students will receive a strong foundation in Riggs phonics (Writing and Spelling Road to Reading and Thinking). Students will learn to correctly form all 26 letters, and pronounce all 42 sounds (phonemes) of the English language. Students will learn how to write a complete sentence and will also learn about nouns, verbs, and adjectives.

Students will memorize basic addition facts to the sum of ten and will solving and understanding subtraction problems. They will learn counting by 2,5, and 10's with proficiency and gain a basic understanding of tens and ones place, and words such as fewer/less, more/greater than.
