Mission & Virtues

Mission Statement

Founders Classical Academy of Bentonville seeks to provide an excellent and distinctive classical education that pursues knowledge, promotes virtue, and prepares students for prosperous lives in a free society.

Founders Classical Academy is committed to providing our future leaders with a nurturing environment that fosters a lifelong passion for learning.

Virtue

Students at FCA Bentonville pursue a moral and intellectual education and are expected to behave in accordance with the following core virtues: Honor, Respect, Service, Excellence, and Perseverance. Each morning our students recite the purpose of these virtues and they are integrated into how we educate our students.

Student Motto

Honor                    I will honor those things that are good, true, and beautiful.

Respect                 I will show respect to others at all times.

Service                  I will do good things for others without being asked.

Excellence             I will strive for excellence in all things.

Perseverance        I will fulfill commitments and not give up or act on discouragement.

School Motto

The Founders' school motto is "scientia virtus et libertas," which when translated means knowledge, virtue, and liberty. The school motto expresses the idea supported by the Founding Fathers of our nation: if we want to maintain our individual liberties and our societal freedoms, we must have a well-educated and virtuous citizenry.

Knowledge: We believe that the pursuit of knowledge is never-ending and we set the foundation for students to be lifelong learners.

Virtue: We believe knowledge alone does not make a good citizen. The shaping of a student's heart is more important than the shaping of their mind.

Liberty: We believe that liberty is necessary for citizens to live and participate in a free and just republic.
